Turnstyle
Turnstyle is a retail center at Columbus Circle with more than 30 shops and creative start-ups. Turnstyle is the first privately financed retail marketplace within the NYC subway system and is a model for public/ private partnerships and transit retail. The project involved integrating amenities and tenant spaces, and coordinating between multiple public and private partners.
UPC’s work on Turnstyle began during navigation of construction phase protocols with the MTA and with the contractor. UPC's role included advising at scope review meetings and weekly project meetings; monitoring project documents including shop drawings/submittal logs, RFIs, delivery schedules; initiating subcontractor meetings; coordinating meetings with the MTA navigating the TCO process; and reviewing requisitions and change orders. UPC also provided significant supportive services to the construction manager during critical phases of the project.
