Firm Profile

As a certified NYC Women Owned Business Enterprise and an Employee Owned Cooperative, UPC partners with clients committed to our same values: social and environmental responsibility, community service, diversity and education.

Collaboration is at the heart of our practice. To deliver top results for our clients, we integrate the expertise of all team members during the course of a project. Our clients' goals become our company's goals.

To date UPC staff has managed all sizes of projects, ranging from small offices to research laboratories, from rural farms to urban schools, from jazz clubs to synagogues. Our depth of experience allows us to bring any type of project from inception to completion.

Our Values

Our core principles are trust, respect, transparency, and fairness. Our company strives to implement and represent these concepts, both internally and externally.

In practice this means:

  • We are committed to building teams with diverse backgrounds, experience and expertise, as we know this leads to richer outcomes for clients and projects.

  • We operate using a governance system that is intended to foster communication and respect.

  • We are committed to social responsibility and seek out clients who share our values.

  • We foster long-term relationships with clients who work with us as partners in a responsible and respectful manner.

Firm History & Governance

UPC was founded in 2014 with the goal of offering partnership in the firm to all qualified staff.

In 2021, UPC became an employee-owned cooperative, with six current members that shape the framework of the company. Company strategy and general operations are governed by a management committee comprised of three members who rotate on 3-year terms. Both members and non-members serve on committees to support operations and advance internal projects.
